wonder if putin
ever held a butterfly in his hand
i think not
time is slipping
through her fingers
quickly
her days are numbered
give up
you're never going to find
the key to his cash box
or to his heart
wonder if putin
ever held a butterfly in his hand
i think not
time is slipping
through her fingers
quickly
her days are numbered
you're never going to find
the key to his cash box
or to his heart
EARTHWEAL WEEKLY CHALLENGE
my glam movie star persona
suppose i should learn to drive
even get a license
cupid is sharpening
his arrows
was better when there were
2 lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
wish you were here
no
i have learned
to never make attachments
to places or things
it can all be taken away
wonder
scrabbled together with bits and pieces
can be found
everywhere
between the ears
is our most sacred
space
place
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE !
O dear
i remember a hat like this one
i am much older than i think
EARTHWEAL OLW # 114
i've never liked that bird
who hangs about this car mirror
imagine looking like him
tis enough to make your feathers fall out
not a great idea
drinking a whole bottle of vodka
at dinner
having an alfred hitchcock moment
again
Break break break
on thy cold grey stones
i still remember that poem
from a time when children
learnt poetry by heart
read anne of green gables
and the scarlet pimpernel
and thought bananas
were a dessert treat with ice cream
rather than a teaching aid
to demonstrate condom application
in the sex education lesson
Earthlink OLW # 113
Let’s celebrate radical hope — that hope whose only basis is our faith in the wonder of life and our capacity to embrace it. EARTHWEAL
not easy
with the apocalyptic turn
the world has taken
faith in the wonder of life
faith in the magnificence
of J S Bach
faith in what inspired him
is the answer for me
this infernal flooding rain
with a hey ho
the wind and the rain
for the rain it raineth every day
one day it will stop i suppose
not interested in building an ark
what with all those animals and noah
no thanks
Anja Rožen, a 13-year old elementary school student from Slovenia is the winner of the international contest Plakat MIRU. She was chosen among 600,000 children from all over the world. "My poster represents the earth that connects and unites us. People stick to each other. If one person let go, the rest will fall. We are all connected to our planet and to each other, but unfortunately we are little aware of it," said the young creator.
when i was thirteen
i lived in a world
where grannies knitted a lot
taught their granddaughters
knit one purl one
taught their granddaughters
to always wear clean underwear
in case you got hit by a bus
taught their granddaughters
to cream their elbows
if they wanted to score a nice husband
yes i know
the world has changed
a lot
