WORDLE 324.....MLMM

Did you know the paperclip (or paper clip) played a part in WWII? It was a symbol of Norway’s resistance to the Nazis. People would wear them in solidarity, until the Germans caught on, banned them, and imposed punishments to those who wore them. https://nationaltoday.com/paper-clip-day/

quirky impact common resistant ribbon art threat  eventually benefit school cool creativity

quirky and creative art
tres cool of the resistance
made an impact on the nazis
who felt threatened by coloured paper clips
worn by school teachers to show solidarity
not uncommon to get shot for this or torn to ribbons
by ferocious german shepherds
to the benefit of mankind the germans eventually
lost the war
now we are stuck with
the poltergeist putin

Friday Writings # 78 ....YOU CHOOSE... MACHINE OR HUMAN ?

Dear Fandango...I would like to ask you for a favour…..Could you write a poem with an A1 device in Shakespearean language and form….maybe a sonnet …The reason I am asking you to do it is because I am curious to know if the poem will be above average…I would like to know if A1 can produce something brilliant….I want to know I am correct in thinking that it is not possible. ( I hope !)

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

POEM 1

The Bard's Lament

I sit within my study, all alone,
My thoughts do wander to the days of yore,
When I could write of love and passion pure,
And all the world was filled with joy and lore.

But now, my muse has fled, and left me here,
A broken man, with nothing left to write,
My heart is filled with sadness and despair,
And all my days are filled with bitter night.

The world has changed, and I cannot keep up,
The times have moved on, and I am left behind,
I am a relic of a bygone age,
A fool who cannot keep up with the times.

So now I sit, and write this sonnet last,
A farewell to my muse, and to my past.

POEM 2

My dear, the sun has risen once again
And with it comes a task that’s quite a bore
For I must now put down my trusty pen
And venture out to do my daily chore

But fear not, my love, for I have a plan
To make this tedious task a bit more fun
I’ll dress up like a clown, with pots and pans
And dance around like a jester on the run

Perhaps my neighbors will be quite amused
To see me prance about in such attire
And if they’re not, well then I shall excuse
Myself and say I’m simply feeling dire

So let us go forth, my love, and make mirth
For life is but a jest, and we its mirth.

WORDLE # 323....MLMM

minnie and mickey
sold tickets in advance
for their variety comedy
which included a banquet
after the stage show
at the lodge

with raised eyebrows
some said the idea exceeded the parameters
of common sense converging on the ridiculous
eliminating the possibility of a profit
and would become a financial liability
others said the opposite

as for minnie and mickey
well they  were free spirits
stopped heeding advice years ago

opposite stage comedy converge lodge liability parameters eliminate banquet advance variety eyebrows

FRIDAY WRITINGS # 77

DAY 28... NAPOWRIMO

pungent cooking smells
reek of poverty and servitude
time for a shower
sound the trumpet
she listens to purcell
whilst chopping the onions

the door clicks
it's next door
another world
three inches away that
she never wants to see

the carnations in the jam jar
are joyous
are still alive
after weeks of neglect
are in love with
the sprigs of mint
pure and fragrant
amongst the potato peels

They refuse to die

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "This Is My Vow" by Lucia Mae Pitts: bitter, taste, wine, jaded, live, cup, sip, whims, swear, pluck, thorns, flowers

 sippng the bitter sweet  taste

from the cup of a jaded life

awash with swear words

thorns carefully plucked from the flowers

whims..a few

wine ...no need

SUNDAY MUSE #259

 she remembers the feeling

dim now and decades ago

swinging from the chandeliers

didn't happen often

but sheer joy when it did

they walk on by

going from a to b

the never ending rush

to be somewhere

the empty modern life

from which few escape

the only one who gives some

recognition is the hairdresser

who wonders where

she got her colour done

 the sun's shining

she rushes about the kitchen

singing love songs

the kettle whistles

coffee time

she needs to have a shower

do her face

the door knob turns

she hears the clearing of a throat

she is fully clothed

so modesty not an issue

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

 FOR MY GREAT AUNT

EUGENIE HENRIETTE

 happy birthday darling

memories of

you looking after me

as a child

your sweet kitchen

your excitement

at my  coming to stay with you

 drinking strawberry milk

ordered from the milkman

especially for me

eating crusty baguettes

with lashings of butter

eating iced vovos

(we never had these at home)

you telling me stories

your little canary warbling in the doorway

taking me on my first plane ride holiday

and later always a birthday card in the mail with $50

inside

there are so many things for which i can never ever thank you

enough

thank you for loving me so much

you are with me always
