Whirligig # 377

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "The Peach" by Alice Friman: peach, sticky, sky, know, juice, corner, earth, numb, orange, ice, tend, disappear

 Paul Kelly Canadian Artist

she just wanted to disappear

numb herself to the pain

so she ran away

she'll drink orange juice

sip iced tea

eat sticky date pudding

go to the beach

enjoy the blue sky

explore the four corners of the earth

she knows she'll be OK

beautiful gals who look like a ripe peach

tend to land on their feet

 popular little plant

grown in offices apartment and homes

no green thumbs needed

in danger of extinction

in their wild habitat

land clearing responsible

must we destroy

Sunday Muse # 216

 SHADORMA

it was nice

having her own bear

she felt safe

but sadly

the bear hugs and claws were more

than she could cope with

living in the desert

best to make your own fun

or go quietly mad

hello

what's this then

attention seeker

bushfire hazard

burnt sausages wont be

the only charred offering

on the menu

earthweal....yesterday

yesterday

was a public holiday

celebrating

the queens birthday

unsurprisingly her majesty prefers canada to oz

yesterday

the beach disappeared

 at bondi

swept across the pavilion

and into the shops

yesterday

huge waves

dotted our coastline

too dangerous to swim or  surf

not for the faint hearted

yesterday

i saw the whales

having such fun

they seem to enjoy

these extreme weather conditions

jumping out of the water

crash landing

and for the first time

i  understood

what having a whale of a time meant

good on them

Bill Withers - Just The Two Of Us (official video)

 this takes me back

to a time when

it was always summer and smiles

life was a brighter colour sprinkled with magic

the long long road ahead was so far away

a mere dot on the horizon

we thought it would never end

but it did end

and now we have arrived at the pointy end of life

rickety and aged

no longer beaming beauties

or dancing queens

inevitable maybe

but not recommended

the  light and airy buiding was asprawl

with designer quirky  touches

sculpted window panes

and divine cat plant patterned wall paper

there's a good feeling about this apartment

don't want to leave

she got this by winging it

must be more adventurous

and pray i will be as lucky

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "Deportation" by Stella Wong: feeling, pray, divine, pane, building, wallpaper, plant, pattern, light, leave, winging, asprawl

Little Rituals # 29

These are a few of her favourite things

 awaking to pink lilies

 breakfast

her favourite meal

freshly squeezed orange juice and tea

soft boiled egg and soldiers

yes she is  still 10 years old

thinks of all the things she has to do

dives back under the fur rug

resolves not to do any of them

the adult gives the ten year old a talking to

she finally drags herself out of the warm cosy bed

begins the day

jealous of those  bears

which get to hibernate throughout winter
