Thursday Doors

This 14th century door at Exeter Cathedral, UK, is thought to be the oldest existing cat flap.
A cat was paid a penny each week, to keep down the rats and mice in the north tower, and a cat flap was cut into the door below the astronomical clock to allow the cat to carry out its duties.Records of payments were entered in the Cathedral archives from 1305 to 1467, the penny a week being enough to buy food to supplement a heavy diet of rodents.

pussy cat pussy cat

WORDLE # 332...MLMM

Wordle #332

in my generation
we ancients
reused and did not waste
used charcoal for blacking shoes
the wagon wheel was a chocolate
we lived  in humble abodes
a squeeze was something your boyfriend
gave you at the movies on saturday night
we all wanted a knight in shining armor
like Troy Donahoe
but ended up with mavericks
with inflated egos
who forgot anniversaries

wagon wheels

 Poetry with Pics

a glamorous gran

beautiful and elegant

what is her secret

fantasy

not realistic

life is not

quite like that

when people are involved there

 are always problems

granny

has a rambling garden

her dog named sniffer

loves it too

lately

he has been behaving

strangely

his eyes have turned pale blue

her painting sings

like the ripples of her flute

a beautiful mind

does not need feeding

does not need brushing

just a big cuddle cat

to match

her lovely new jacket

 puss has taken up residence

in the bathroom sink

why?

because he can

birds of a feather

a collage of famous artists

flocked together

Whirligig # 430

 a walk in the woods

spins her back

picking weeds for potions

the distant bark of a lone owl

your name carved in the old oak tree

your absence a tender bruise

a visit from you is unlikely

she keeps wishing anyway

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "Oak Skin" by Kris Ringman: wood, bark, oak, spins, pick, bruise, weeds, potions, walk, wishing, visit, keeps

SUNDAYS WITH RALL #5

more problems
never seems to end
all things pass
including me
life is full of ups and downs
just keep on going

very sweet
a boy and his dad
at his work
no worries
dad can afford a sitter
but wants him around

seven more weeks
counting down the days
hate winter
freezing cold
spring cant come soon enough
bring it on
sun and sand

imagine
wearing these
so crazy
a torture
trying to get these seams straight
fashion can be mad

whitney
how will i know
if he really loves me
fun times of life youth with you
memories

 Ivy - The Survivor

September 30 - October 27

As an Ivy, your most prized ability is to overcome all odds. You have a sharp intellect, but more obvious is your compassion and loyalty to others. You have a giving nature, and are always there to lend a helping hand. You are born at a time of the waning sun so life an be difficult for you at times. Nevertheless, you endure troubling times with silent perseverance and soulful grace. You are soft spoken, but have a keen wit. You are charming, charismatic, and can effectively hold your own-self in social settings. Ivy signs are attracted to Oak and Ash signs.

am blushing
well what can i say
thank you tree
yes all true
(modest too)
no waning sun down under
but life can be hard

 POETRY WITH PICS

her hair

will not grow back

to this length -  would take years

sadly she does not have those years

pity

let go

too many thorns

love should be mutual

there is no place for selfishness

just joy

it was pink

i remember it

where is it

not seen it

for more than forty five years

what else is missing

the last cup and saucer

salvaged from a childhood tea set

loved those pretty violets

not seen for years either

tram to bronte

more than half a century ago now

time flies

thankfully

i never knew any guys

who looked like this

Today, Tomorrow and Forever - Elvis Presley in Viva Las Vegas 1964

yes

maybe i have rocks in my head

 that's right

i am considering  doing a PHD

on Elvis Presley

the University of Sydney  has awarded a PHD on Taylor Swift

to a grammatically challenged (and I use the term loosely) academic

so i thought  i may as well add a final string to the bow

of my now rendered useless qualifications from

Australia's oldest university

Taylor Swift?

what next ?

the aeroplane jelly song ?

what do you think this is-- bush week?
