French Lesson 2

je suis anglais
j'economise sur l'eau
je prends du bain avec ma femme
j'ai peur
j'ai perdu le savon
elle sourit d'une air satisfait
peut-etre
elle revasse
de lecher les vitrines

literal translation

i am english
i am saving water
i am taking a bath with my wife
i am scared
i have lost the soap
she smiles with a satisfied look
perhaps
she daydreams
of licking the windows

english translation

i am english
to save water
i am bathing with my wife
i am scared
i have lost the soap
she smirks
perhaps
she is daydreaming
about window shopping

  1. this is great. So enjoyed the multiple translations and Ozzy looks totally freaked out in the pic, priceless. The French verse is gorgeous, just love how certain languages sound beautiful irregardless of what is being said. Great share. Thanks for joining us tonight.

  9. The literal translation is genius! It is strange how some languages make almost anything sound good.

  10. <----licks windows frequently, no really. But this is beautiful...i love the french language and the sound of it and the way it looks, i do not dare attempt to read it aloud in fear of butchering it. But your translations are so great. And the Ozzy and Sharon reference is so fantastic. Thank you

  11. Thanks everyone. I am glad you all enjoyed this. I am fortunate to be able to speak French with a native accent. I spoke French before I spoke English (French mother in Oz) thus I am allowed to be surreal and slightly off kilter. It is a result of the combination of the two cultures.
