The Imitation Game

Midweek Motif
3WW...tedious reflect waste

For Alan Turing

alan was never accepted
tortured at school
tortured at work
tortured to death

with endurance
devotion and determination
against all the odds
he cracked the enigma code
saved millions of lives
in ww2

thank you alan
to show our gratitude
we are going to castrate you
destroy your genius mind
and drive you to suicide

cruelty man's evil  brilliance
is the only thing the tedious and ordinary excel at
on reflection the powers that be
thought they may have made a mistake
the queen posthumously granted him a pardon
for being a poof
i hope his family used it as lavatory paper

what a waste of a great mind
what a waste of a great human being

Wattle I do ?

 3 WW

the pelting rain is back
the sky a polished silver metallic grey
reminds us it is still officially winter
the wattle has put on her yellow dress
too soon
she is decked out like a breath of spring
optimal presentation to prevent her limbs
blocking a driveway from being chopped

it almost worked

On The Road With Handel

a fast drive on the open road
allegro firing up the creative juices
cold snap over

the dark mountain range
frames a few fat friesians
dotted along the plains
the old rusty sheds
never looked so good

and the black black night
with the dark dead quiet
punctuated
only by a bird having a bad dream is
to die for

so happy to be back
amongst the country dogs
chooks cows cats galahs
roos and even the joe blakes

in town
a cow cockie saw me
struggling to load the  van
said
here, let me do it for ya luv
i almost burst into tears

was it his cruel blue eyes
his charisma
his power
that made you besotted

did you feel a connection
being born in swastika
your middle name valkyrie

the master manipulator
knew how to choose his victims
so you did not stand much of a chance

he was the sort
who could convince a following
the sun was shining when they are standing
drenched in the rain

when he gave you a gun as a present
the bells should have rung
where was your guardian angel
taking a holiday in the baltic ?

the pearl inlay handle
did not make you special
the only special one for him
was him

you were swept away
with the tide into the deep
returned with a bullet

New Holland

A DUTCH TALE   MLMM

The Lady Of Stavoren

the dutch first came in 1606
no wealth here they said
forget it...leave it
it's a dump

the spirit  of the lady of stavoren lives on
she has got a whiff of all that coal
lying dormant in the liverpool plains
"toss the grain start digging"
she advises

now she is going to compensate
for the dutch mistake of missing out
on all those riches when it was there for the taking
by transmitting her greed
to the existing new holland government
enjoying the spoils vicariously
from her hot seat in hades

Night

Mid Week Motif PU

night
and the yellow pleasure of candle light
cuddle tock of the clock and brown books
green eye'd cat by the fire
wet roses bending over the pane
in the song of the rain
a loved childhood poem by hugh mc crae
read over and over again
fed my dreams
made me realise that words
arranged in a certain way can inspire
paint pictures sow the seeds of desire

they gave me warmth and comfort
when winter nights were much colder
than they are now

The Boss

3 WW

aloof whole temporary

aloof she was
not a temporary mood state
she was like that the whole time

i heard her falling about laughing
on the phone once and was shocked
she obviously had chosen a few
to trust and shut out the rest

the staff gossiped and bitched
behind her back
smarmy and flattering to her face
she was not fooled for a minute
i liked her

Lady Bay Beach

 Carpe Diem Haiku Kai

perpetual snow
reflects the sunlight
i dream of a nude beach

Chevrefeuille

Lady Jane  , now called Lady Bay,  is a beautiful secluded harbour beach with a stunning view of Sydney. It has been allocated as a nude beach . From the walkway above the beach to South Head, one is subjected to the sight of dangling male appendages , perhaps posing for photo opportunities or whatever , for the passersby. Curiously I have yet to see a naked woman on this beach, which may have something to do with the change of name from Lady Jane to Lady Bay.

Unknown to many, this area is potentially a jurisdictional nightmare. Any unseemly behaviour occuring in the water is the responsibility of the Maritime Services Authority, whereas if it occurs on the sand it is the responsibility of the National Parks and Wildlife .
If it occurs on the rocks it is officially a" grey area" and no government department or local council wants to take responsibility.

I have always wanted to swim at this beach , so next summer Rall is proposing (not nude but fully decked out in a wet suit of course) to give it a shot. No doubt I will be breaching a regulation touching upon political correctness offending nudists and/or other minorities.  If challenged I will clamber to the rocks, seeking jurisdictional immunity and remain there until a passing boat rescues me from my " grey area"
