Wordle 99 MLMM

strange to be
jettisoned
like stale bread
or an old suitcase
thrown on a heap
again

know thyself
hold on to those sunbeams

if you have the temerity
to speak out frequently
be certain you can afford the luxury

anyways
enough of this navel gazing
i'm famished
let's drive to the junction
do lunch
buy tickets
fly away
together

For The Weekend

For Peter Newbury
(one of the world's great oboe d'amore players)

in the beginning
was the word
and the word was God
and then he created Bach
to remind us
then inspired musicians
to never let us forget

We Are Stardust

we know
there are too few
acts of love

she
the silent witness
powers through
the diurnal brutality
with boadicean might
brilliant at dodging arrows
immune to the onslaught

the only chink in the armour
is love
shattering the warrior to sobs
when witnessing genuine goodness
rare acts of kindness and affection

all
a reminder
of how far removed
we are from the garden

not for me  - the folk
exploding like spiders
across the stars

age brings to an end
yellow hot blazing candles
burn burn fabulous

i'd prefer to be
hiding under a carapace
with a gentle snail

Rall's Thoughts On Marriage

women want nests
children and husbands
in a hurry when
the biological clock
is  tick tocking

they live
happily ever
after the divorce

not a good basis
for a long term
relationship

in Scandinavian countries
you could not marry the five cats
only one ( at the moment)
it's ok if you're the same sex

you would be happy together
even in an egg carton
marriage fairy tales

most likely
a married man
danger
start running

just remember
the seven dwarves
will not be around
to help with baby sitting
or the dirty dishes
neither will prince charming

two thorny blooms
gnarls prickles and scars
disillusioned disappointed
find each other

For The Weekend

friday sunset
i watch the
flying fox framed
against the pink sky
heading home for the evening

it's been
a perfect swimming afternoon

gazing up at the palms
a watering can in my hand
sand in my toes
i wish you could enjoy
this perfect moment
with me

i know there will be
many perfect moments for you
as you soar high free in spirit
with your keen hawk eye for beauty
it is not just the oceans that separate us

i also know you wont be coming back

No Substitute For The Real Thing

they look fake
they don't last - disintegrate
no child ever suckled on
two flesh covered  basket balls
costing  ten grand
forever an expensive folly

terrible toupees don't fool anyone
besides
they pose a threat to wildlife
birds mistake them for nests

Haiku Horizons: Heeding Haiku With Chevrefeuille.MLMM

Atlanta the Greek goddess, ran so fast she could outrun everyone. The Gods would only permit her to marry  a man ,who could beat her in the race. Melanion seriously smitten, decided to drop three heavy golden apples ,which he thought she could never resist picking up, in order to slow her down .Her feelings for Melanion were mutual, so she picked up the heavy apples. He won the race. Eventually Melanion offended the Gods and they were both turned into lions as a punishment. The ancient Greeks believed lions could only mate with leopards...Why? because Griks are little bit  crazy:)

he ran fast, she faster
sacrificed her precious gift
sad but typical

Morris Dancers

some blokes meet up
for a beer and a chat
these chaps do it differently
one could say that

stranger than  fiction
perhaps
yes
perhaps

a morris dancer's hat
is rather genteel
somehow or other
these poms look surreal

with their flowers and posies
straw hats  and big feet
yet overall really
they all seem quite sweet
