Brahms’ “How lovely are thy dwellings”: St John’s Cambridge 1997 (Christ...

Sunday Muse # 123

summer
in the south of france
she had waited so long for
this trip of a lifetime

even decades on
fields of sunflowers
never fail to remind her
of his heavy tread
the archangel of destruction
crushing dreams and joy

with dread
it's the only time
she ever  remembers him

Shadorma Poetry

a small boat
in the stormy sea
springs a leak

 two people
stranded in the vast ocean
alone together

he makes holes
she makes an attempt
to fill them

it will sink
it's just a matter of time
before they both drown

Fashion Folly

a family
pulling together
in the tug o war of life

helping each other
co operation
the foundation
of a prosperous  society

being pressed
into  a whale bone corset
is not ideal
(for the whales at least )

this fashion folly
a thing of the past
is now replaced by
trout pout lips
tattoos and
huge bum enhancement

(you can get one of these for $60,000)

hard to believe
we ever landed a man
on the moon

Weekly Scribblings # 33

swallows scream for dinner
wish they'd put a sock in it
enemy tether
got car troubles

been flat out lately
like a lizard drinking
need to put my feet up with a tinny
go places with ernie dingo
out past the black stump
woop woop way

Wordle # 202 MLMM

Coconut Interruptus

a perfect day
rays of sunshine
dappling the greenery
of palms and paw paw trees
their bikes leaning against the shed

her

lying outstretched
in the elysian expanse
of tropical splendour
ruffled hair
holes in her fish net stockings
toes peeping through

him

about to realise
his  concupiscent desires
feeling triumphant
at  long last

when

a  large coconut crashes

(funeral on friday )

expanse
concupiscent-
triumphant
shed
toes
greenery
fish
ray
ruffle
paw
coconut
elysian

Pantry Poem

Painting by Lee Kennedy

little miss wren
started out  centre stage
with a bright background
time went by and
she gradually slipped
to the bottom of the canvas
soon to disappear from sight
her song
but a memory

Things that Make Me Smile

i smile

at your comforting words
when you tell me to keep warm
that i have a place in your heart
that you care about me
and at the moment
this means more to me
than the bright blue sky
the white horses galloping across the sea
my beloved rock pools
even chocolate sponge cake
