Sunday Muse # 123

summer
in the south of france
she had waited so long for
this trip of a lifetime

even decades on
fields of sunflowers
never fail to remind her
of his heavy tread
the archangel of destruction
crushing dreams and joy

with dread
it's the only time
she ever  remembers him

  1. I can almost feel the ground shaking under his heavy tread. I think I am feeling a similar tread in the country to my south.

  2. Oh no ... lots of emotion flowing through me right now. Which a good poem creates.

  3. This is powerful Rall! Memories and hurt can have a lasting sting. You have showed that beautifully.
