but in her case this is not so
prefers to run with josh and joe

to tag along would ruin their fun
they're young and trim and fighting fit
enjoying life and all its gifts

she watches them go running by
it makes her sad it makes her sigh
remembering when she had legs
that could run dance and swim great lengths

so now she writes her poetry
filling her time with words and dreams
reaching old age is not so great
a part of life just call it fate

as a child
could relate to the cow
jumping over the moon
but was never comfortable

and a little confused with the
dish running away with the spoon
until this  dish ran away 
with the spoon when she was 19
and then it all made sense
next time
this dish is running away
with a white knight 

where she will sit on a cushion 

and sew a fine seam
and feed upon strawberries sugar and cream
