she still missed her friend
loved sharing confidences
offering a shoulder to cry on
thought she was kind and caring
took pleasure in joining her for social events
took pride in being in her company
until she had to face the reality
that she had been betrayed
and could not keep on hiding from the awful truth
she would need now to take steps to recover
from her devastation
