Sunday Muse # 251
cupboard love?
of course not
you are my most favourite human
in the world
you bringing in a tray
of smoked salmon canapes
is entirely irrelevant

March Ekphrasis Challenge .....Earthweal
OUR AUSSIE BIRDS
when you are
tired of eating pine bark and gum nuts
why not try calamari rings
(cockatoos our larrikin birds )
colours that inspired fifties kitchens
grandma aprons and scone making
courtesy of the CWA
Country Womens Association
the little blue fairy wren
is everyone's favourite
so tiny so fragile so cute
* recent research suggests the males are doting fathers
they sing to their eggs and once they hatch, the chicks
are able to recognise their parent's unique song.*
the flame robin
a fashion icon
comes in pink
as well as red
the rainbow lorikeet
is a modern mardi gras
kind of bird
having dust ups with
the plain conservative drab pigeons
everyone has owned a budgie
at some time in their life
some guys even try to smuggle
them in their swimwear
budgie smugglers
but none of them have a patch
on the male gang gang cockatoo
this crusader bird is so smart
just by looking at it
you know it knows everything
incredible presence and personality
gorgeous

Sunday Muse # 250
she kept his love letters
in a bird cage
music to her ears
his jacket had been languishing
in his wardrobe for years
without mothballs
unwelcome
wedding surprise
she knew it was a mistake
how could anyone marry a man
with a moth plague in his jacket
too late now
what luck
he went out to buy smokes
and never returned
boo hoo
she was ecstatic
bought herself
boxes of chocolates
to celebrate
ended up busking
in the town square
somewhere
should have had
the jacket drycleaned

A Few Of My Favourite Things
friday might
end of the working week
feet up
a drink with john coltrane
bliss
somehow
there's a spanish feeling
in my kitchen today
ole !
friday night
flowers
one of the things
that never fail
to bring me joy
the milky way
on a lonely road in south australia
no light pollution here
friday night bubble bath time
not quite the same in a sink
sydney rents... sky rocketed
outrageous prices unaffordable
a bathroom with a bath?
don't like your chances
cheap housing
three shipping containers
on a block of land in the bush
guaranteed bubble bath time
two ordinary looking blokes
enjoying a cold beer and a simple meal
at a roadside cafe
looks deceive

Wordle # 312 ......MLMM
love singles
not doubles
have a weak backhand
don't play many faults
never broken a racquet string
adore world matches
tense and thrilling
at the final match point score
it's official
grunting is ok
not with me it's not

Sunday Muse # 249....
sharing a bed
with a swan
is better than
sharing a bed with a pig
a situation a lot of women
find themselves in unfortunately
as soon as dobbin found out
the cow had jumped over the moon
there was no stopping him
very competitive that horse
sorry my dear
you have failed the experiment section
of your science examination paper
these butterflies will never make you airborne
whereas
Fabrizio's fartanesqua flatulent garlic bologneso pasta sauce
can cause (when in contact with flammable fabric)
fire and airborn volcanic eruptions
(Sorry Fabrizio ...you know I love you and this is definitely not about you:)
Put it down to alliteration.

Friday Writings # 66 Childhood Memories
eau de cologne
afternoon tea and scones
cosy memories
of a gentler time
waiting for a tram
in the rain
we did not own a car
an only child
never lonely
with a little family
of her own
lots of fun in a little dinghy
inspired by Enid Blyton
creative and imaginative games
church
every sunday
hats and gloves
dress up occasion
no ensuite
in our abode
jugs and bowls
for a french wash
getting a typewriter
for my birthday
was very exciting and grown up
i loved mine
i wish i still had it
how could i forget
dear tibby
actually tabby
but with thick accents
in the house
sounded like tibby
vinyl records
rock n roll
tan shoes and pink shoe laces
and a big panama with a purple hat band
happy memories
