DAY 19
FOR ALL THE POETS AND WRITERS
in my mind i go to lots of
faraway places
foreign magical exotic and wild
all from the comfort
of a big cosy bed
in the wonderful quiet of night
in the early hours
transported by your words
i dont know you
i will never meet you
but a writer's gift
is beyond rubies
it fills a lot of empty spaces
with love
so
i thank you
Writers Pantry # 43
DAY 20
she cant feel my touch
how can i tell her
we are both just stencils
trapped on a brick wall
none of it real
an online fantasy
DAY 21 Shadorma
take my hand
i feel a bit sad
hold me close
for a while
lets listen to some good jazz
with a glass of wine
DAY 22 Shadorma
a leopard
never changes spots
its nature
stuck fast fixed
if you cannot cope with heat
leave the hot kitchen
how often
does this still happen
dont do it
keep away
leopards are so seductive
don't encourage them
DAY 23 _ cinquain
there is a god
only a deity
could create perfection like a
mango
DAY 24 - Cascade Form
these rocks are friends
they are stable
no surprises
their little faces
dont smile and bite simultaneously
these rocks are friends
they don't undermine
play cruel games
they are stable
you wont find a knife
in your back
no surprises

So true! This resonated.

What better place to be than in bed to plan and imagine your next poem or story in the comfort of your own bed.
ReplyDelete"...leopards are so seductive
ReplyDeletedon't encourage them" is so very true, and you put it very well.
The wonder of words, the gift of reading. Thanks for some James Taylor today. Lovely man.

so true, Rall!
Awww, thank you – as one of the poets and writers – and the same to you! I enjoyed all the parts of this post. Yes to mangoes, rocks on the seashore, big cats, James Taylor, and above all some good jazz and a glass of wine. The Vince Jones piece is sublime.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your poetry that inspires us too.
ReplyDeletefollowed your link to Vince Jones' video. not some genre i usually listened to, but certainly a refreshing change, a great listening in the night.
What wonderful poetic vignettes you gifted us! James Taylor is one of my favorites. Thank you for that too!
ReplyDeleteSigh ..... a huge sigh from the comfort of my bed under fluffy down.
ReplyDeleteI like these poems. The mango one is my favorite, but your shadormas are always good, too. Wise. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely poems to cuddle up and read this chilly day in Texas.
ReplyDeleteI love that note of thanks to poets and writers. Many are under-appreciated
