We feast while the world falls apart. I enjoy the map of appropriate names. Smiles. I do love the wide brown land. On this side of the world it is green - or it is supposed to be. Brown where the forests once were.
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Oz. I have never been to one but I do believe it's a lot like a Christmas feast ....maybe with special dishes and no Santa.?
A traditional Thanksgiving feast consists of turkey, green bean casserole with fried onions on top, sweet potato casserole with baked marshmallows on top, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pumpkin pie. It's on overstuffing of food in the bellies. Lol! My son and I don't eat any of that. We have our regular meals and just celebrate being together. :-)

ReplyDeleteThat's quite a map! I suppose if it's always brown, there are no NEW worries! Happy feast if you are having one.

DeleteYes, Thanksgiving and Christmas can both have similar foods! But no presents.
ReplyDeleteWith one or two words you do present a whole, always, Rall : 'Wide brown land' and that map!
ReplyDeleteGreat contrast between plentitude and struggle, Rall!
