Three Word Wednesday

rosie
as a small child
was quite
the perfectionist

her father was too
much to the annoyance
and angst of her mother

opposites attract

rosie moved in with
messy insouciant laidback
undisciplined and disorganised
rodney

nag nag
moan moan
rosie criticised rodney constantly
which only exacerbated and amplified
the discord

the fighting became ferocious
and futile
so they decided to compromise
cull all of their possessions
and live in a tent

where they grew old together
and lived unhappily ever after

Poetry Jam

dverse oln

on this beautiful spring day
the sky cerulean blue
fringed by palms and purple jacaranda

i peg out the washing in my big straw hat
playing in a sea of pale green sheets
pillow slips and tea towels

i know this for sure
not even
that joyless bastard
spoiler of everything
try as he may
can ruin this moment

Dona Nobis Pacem

Blog Blast For Peace November 2013

From little things
Big things grow

Dona nobis clean water
Donas nobis a sweet orange
Dona nobis some sincere kind words
Dona nobis a helping hand

If you think this is not a big deal
Then we inhabit different worlds
There will never be Peace

Anywhere
For
Anyone

Unless we show compassion
To our fellow man

Sunday Scribblings; Poets United

the nature of man
is the scorpion
the great destroyer

frogs are known
for doing favours
trusting silly  creatures

pity they can't read fables
more might still exist
alas they keep on
giving scorpions rides

a thick skin is recommended

when bitten a frog can survive
yet another day to give
yet another scorpion a ride

who most likely will be disguised
as a pretty winged dragonfly
wearing a halo

Haiku Heights

it smells like old boots
a death sentence in asia
but hey i am cool!

fizzy cold champagne
bananas in pyjamas
the grass looks greener

and so do the bananas
who've slipped into mauve wetsuits
