GET IT ON

Whoo hoo Day 3o PARTY TIME
Shakataka BOOM
Prompt: Anything goes!

To be sung with maracas and a cocktail to the tune " Copacobana"

Her name was Barbra
She was a show girl
with yellow feathers in her hair
and a dress cut down to there
She would merengue and do the chacha
And while she tried to be a star
Joseph Harker'd from afar
He worked the crowded room
He worked each poet to score
He was young and he had den mothers
Who could ask for more

CHORUS
At the top blog...RWP site
The hottest site north of Havana
At the top blog...RWP site
Music and words were always head bangers
At RWP...time cut too shooort

Her name was Lola
Another show girl
But that was thirty years ago
when her and Barbra had a show
And now her new name is Rallentanda
Still in the dress she used to wear
faded feathers in her hair
She drank herself half blind
And drives the other poets wild
She lost her youth and she lost RWP
Now she's lost her mind

CHORUS

Hiroshima Mon Amour

POW POETRY ON WEDNESDAY

I am starting this site because some of you said that you enjoyed the party atmosphere here.
I am offering compact but colorful accommodation, with rich food and decor to match.
If there are too many interested, there will have to be room sharing. However at this or any stage, it is highly unlikely, so be assured of a warm welcome and lots of parties at Ralls.

There will be weekly prompts, competitions, prizes, and lots of surprises because I get bored very easily. Occasionally there will be an article or an interview with an obscure but brilliant writer. Most will come from our unpublished ranks. If you think you might be up for this, drop me a line here in the comments section. I need to get a rough idea of numbers for catering!
Cheers and SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEDNESDAY.

' I'm Breaking The Rules '

Napowrimo poem Day 28
Prompt...Intuition

Intuition
God's whisper
in your ear
Go
Don't Go
Run for your life
Learn to read eyes
Learn to read
in between
and underneath
the lines
Watch the fourth of
seven waves away
How often have
I been fooled
by Caution
God's imposter
keeping me captive
for so long in my
traditional chains
which I never unlock
even though I have the key
I'm breaking the rules
This is a start

Rallentanda

Napowrimo poem Day 27
Prompt : acrostic poem

Running ragged rooted
Animated all fingers and thumbs
Lucrezia loves
Lamingtons
Enjoying them
Nonchalantly with
Tea ( Twinings tea)
And (gesticulating little finger)
Nibbles (Cucumber sandwiches no crusts)
Daily an all time favourite for
Afternoon tea

Searching

Napowrimo poem Day 26

C S Lewis
found his world
through a wardrobe door
he found ectasy
on the lid of a biscuit tin
from Woolworths

Contented in cardigan and slippers
sherry rituals, toast and tea by the fire
puffing pipe in illuminating discussion
with brother Warnie
He found God
on the top of a double decker bus
in the High Street on his way to the shops

I have been searching all my life
behind the wardrobe in bookshelves
in the cupboard under the sink
upturning rocks on the ocean floor
And I still could not find it
So I gave up the search
And found peace
It was under my nose the whole time

First things First

Napowrimo poem Day 25
Prompt: First things First

Even after all this time
when I hear those words
she comes to mind
her thin soft grey perm
her pale blue watery eyes
her cut glass clipped accent
Miss Benelle the Headmistress
who insisted that each staff member
collect their pay cheque
from her personally in her office
just another scoop of humiliation
to be thrown at you
while she made you stand waiting
fumbling slowly in her desk drawer
pretending to have mislaid it
uttering her usual jaundiced greeting
coated in sarcasm
' Oh here it is, of course
first things first"
