SHADORMA
walk away
unlike poor lot's wife
don't look back
start afresh
remove toxins from your life
it is far too short
yes you do
you are generous
with your love
don't accept
bad treatment from anyone
includes family

in the war
his job
was to read letters
to the soldiers
who were illiterate
he said
the dear john ones
were the worse
the war
wasn't only bullets
SHADORMA
love letter
from leonard cohen
to his love
marianne
a very tender letter
i hope she kept it
chemo curls........... nobody wants them....... she loves them....... very much....... always wanted curly hair........ now au naturel......
Austrian Orphan 1946
poor little mite
ecstatic at getting new shoes
God love him
there is no substitute
for sheer joy
pleased he survived
the horrors of the war
we will never know
what happened to him
i hope life was kind to him
if he is still around
whoever you are
wherever you are
God bless you Darling
time marches on
at a rate of knots
life is too fast for everyone
baby boomers
are geriatrics now
in spite of their monumental efforts
to change the status quo and their attempts
at achieving significant change
the world they tried to create
doesn't exist
their chants of peace and love
slow down you're going too fast
you've got to make the mornin' last
are just fleeting petals in the wind now
never mind carpe diem
savour the day
sapor diem
this ole not so groovy boomer anymore says
the perfection of smooth brown eggs
the brand new leaf shoot on your window sill basil plant
the incredible (ongoing in my case ) kindness of strangers
the adoring look and purring of a cat as he watches you serve
fresh sardines
are all mind blowing
no illicit substances necessary
we have so much to give thanks for
FEELIN GROOVY ?
then
DEO GRATIAS
i suppose
i could write about
my travel adventures
living in other countries
seeing incredible sights
of art architecture and history
meeting interesting people
but for me
(probably because i am
at the pointy end of life)
the memory that affords me the
greatest pleasure,most joy and peace
as a child
was pegging out the washing
on beautiful spring afternoons
with my darling grandmother
time with her was the most important
influence in my life
no person i have ever known
was more interesting than she was
yet this unassuming woman
never ventured far from her home
was happy to be there
ruined for choice
hardly
not her lot at all
it always was
and still is
sink or swim
do or die
survival always
the foremost consideration
miraculously
she's still here
(just )
alive and limply kicking
