" I Do "
She had resurfaced triumphantly
after an unceremonious and very public
Dumping
If she had been passed over
again this time
she may as well have hit
the bottle
turned into an old boiler lush
cupped her nibclunks in her hands
and hung herself from a forklift
over an ash-pit
But, this persistently patient lass
stayed awake and alert
Her procrastinating Prince finally proposed
and the world awaits the April wedding
And what a wonderful royal wedding it will bel Rall. Truly, not living anywhere near Britain, there is still something exciting about this. Perhaps left over from my childhood fairy tale days.
ReplyDeleteYes,it is exciting.. I'm looking forward to watching it on the tele.No one could live further away from Britain than me, except if you lived at the South Pole:)
ReplyDeleteGot to give the Royals credit: when they put their minds to it, they will put on a good show.

Thanks Bab..yep, I like a good Royal show!
ReplyDeleteThat Wills is one gorgeous boy and I like a girl who wears a sensible Aussie hat even if it is with pearl earrings:)
Oops having read some poems I now realise that 'nibclunks' was not one word. I like it anyway!
ReplyDeleteAh, love this! A refreshing take on the words!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the laughs. I got quite the visual from that impromptu forklift gallows. Nice to see something from the prompt that wasn't about old age. (btw, your link at Big Tent is broken, so I left a fixed one in a reply, not that it's that hard to find you by clicking your name...)
ReplyDeleteThanks hedgewitch. I haven't mastered the linking process yet. Many have kindly tried to help me on this one with copious notes of instruction to no avail.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! It will be an event to remember, no doubt. Hope it has a happily-ever-after ending this time.
