December

Summer
blue sky today
after grey and drizzle
Off on the boat to Hawks Nest
Blustery Nor'easter
Choppy but fun
Sailing
Sailing
Over the ocean blue
Sea air clears away
the cobwebs
the oil slick murk
and to you two little jewels
who floated to the surface
it was worth wading through
the cess pit to find you
now part of my very small
but priceless collection.

  1. My interpretation may be off the mark, but I enjoyed your poem AND the photos. Thanks.

  3. Greta, my poetry is very straightforward, a reflection of myself and requires very little interpretation ( generally speaking) I have been having a rather unpleasant 'poetic' experience of late and two people have come forward to support me which came as a complete surprise, so I am very chuffed!

Glad you and lwtc enjoyed this!

  6. What a delicious mystery. What were the two jewels pulled out of the cess pit? What did the speaker add to his collection?

  7. And isn't that the beauty of poetry, Wendy! You can only be certain of your interpretation if the poet validates it, which they mainly don't:)
