  1. Loved the movie. So, it's a musical? Why not: the Book of Mormon is now.

  2. I haven't read the Book of Mormon or The Koran.
I'm saving both for that very special occasion.
Somehow I don't think a musical will be made from The Koran

  3. Me too, neither.
Near as I can tell, Hindu gods make the best musicals.
"Book of Mormon" is by the raunchy soph-types who came up with South Park. Mostly described as vulgar and sweet.

  4. I remember being intrigued by Aussies after visiting with Olivia N-J when she was vacationing here in the 80s, but seeing Priscilla a few years ago was like seeing this wonderful collision of improbable places and people. I'm a huge fan of these ladies.

  5. I think you hit the nail on the head with regard to the Aussie identity B D.The collision is alive and well and does seem improbable but it isn't.

I'm often accused of many personas, which is true, but they are all me and it's not that unusual down under.I would hate to be boxed and labelled as just one thing. Far too limiting and what's worse far too boring.

It all boils down to irreverence and a certain larrikinism which we call" taking the piss".We seem to be less repressed than our cousins and do not have the same respect for authority.

Breast beating, and taking yourself too seriously
doesn't go down too well here.Diplomacy is also not one of our great strengths as parodied by
Barry Humphry's, Sir Les Patterson ( gross foreign affairs ambassador from Queensland)

  6. So now I feel like I've taken on the persona of Derrick, expressing to you a well-deserved thanks for making the arcane understandable to the other hemispheres (said with sincerity). I'd heard of the term larrikinism from the Irish context but here you've made it make more sense. I'll look into Barry and Sir Les.

Saw you poeming for April and you were again to the mark. The world is a better place with you expressing yourself...

  7. Thank you Black Douglas. Your very generous comment is truly appreciated. Derrick is a hard
act to follow and might I say,so far, you are doing a very good job. Happy poeming..she'll be right mate!

  8. I promise to resist the temptation to try any Priscilla stunts here in the desert. It would be too abrasive anyway ...

and where did you come from to talk to me about bananas?

  9. Isabel,I've guessed accurately where you are exiled but no worries..your secret is safe with me, digger!

I have connections (Sir Les) in foreign affairs...and I do know, 'yes we have no bananas' is completely untrue, so please do not state to the contrary!
