The dark angel
visited me yesterday
showed me the movie
can't say
if it was in colour
or black and white
I have been warned
and shown the fire
Who do I give thanks to
God?
My ancestors?
J S Bach?
I give gratitude
love and thanks
to all of you
for my salvation
from the flames
yet again
I rejoice
in the truth
and only the truth
My soul soars
floating in the
celestial spheres
Leave it there
Deo Gratias
may your soul soar on...and you know, those movies make for good premonitions at times...
ReplyDeleteLovely, I loved the bare bones of the writing and what I felt as a - hmm, a sort of drifting away from something... which fell into place when I read the final stanza
ReplyDeleteHow perceptive of you turtlememoir. You are spot on.
ReplyDeleteNot literally movies Brian but visual premonition ...yes.
A prayer-poem of thanks, meditative.
ReplyDeleteYou've captured the feel of what for want of a better term is usually called 'a mystic experience' here-above and beyond the prompt, with its own lingering scent of beauty and mystery.
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of the axiom that every day is a new beginning. Deo gratias!
