Deo Gratias

The dark angel
visited me yesterday
showed me the movie
can't say
if it was in colour
or black and white

I have been warned
and shown the fire
Who do I give thanks to
God?
My ancestors?
J S Bach?

I give gratitude
love and thanks
to all of you
for my salvation
from the flames
yet again

I rejoice
in the truth
and only the truth

My soul soars
floating in the
celestial spheres
Leave it there

Deo Gratias

  2. Lovely, I loved the bare bones of the writing and what I felt as a - hmm, a sort of drifting away from something... which fell into place when I read the final stanza

  3. How perceptive of you turtlememoir. You are spot on.

Not literally movies Brian but visual premonition ...yes.

  4. A prayer-poem of thanks, meditative.

  5. You've captured the feel of what for want of a better term is usually called 'a mystic experience' here-above and beyond the prompt, with its own lingering scent of beauty and mystery.

  6. Makes me think of the axiom that every day is a new beginning. Deo gratias!
