Action

the assistant director calls
"Quiet Everyone...Action"

she slips immediately
into her well rehearsed role
like a second skin
ship's captain, guru
solutions manager

confidently clearing the way
of all obstacles
with strides too big for her size

this landslide performance
has been longer than the one
on Broadway
"Les Miserables"

she freezes suddenly
she can't do this anymore

without further ado
she walks off the set
out the door into the street

starts walking
walking
to anywhere or nowhere
whatever

  1. I am sure many would have liked to do that once in our lifetime but never did. There must be a lot of satisfaction to say "What am I doing here" and then walk out the door. She is a better man than me... so to speak!

  2. Ha...I suppose she is, so to speak. She's Greek that girl. Might have something to do with it:)
Hope you are boning up on your Homer and Thucydides.

  3. Yes, sometimes you need to keep moving..anywhere..any how just to keep yourself intact..alive..loved the literary nods..I must be gone and live..or stay and die..Jae

  4. Sometimes leaving is the best action. It makes me imagine better things to come for her.

  5. Sometimes you just gotta walk away. I did that once and sure felt good. I understand the impulse.

  6. If saying where you are is worse than leaving, it is time to go. Good for her.
