Rowing By Heart

3WW...crinkled demand navigate

my heart
navigates
its little row boat
through mountainous seas
storms and ocean liners
toppled by wake wash and foam
crinkled by demands and assaults
like a pleated fan
floating on the ocean

tied down
with rocks and rope
for some strange reason
it is still unsinkable
it will not die

  7. Hearts are pretty resilient. I loved the way you got the vagaries of the ocean to compare with the torments suffered by the heart!

  9. ". . .like a pleated fan / floating on the ocean" is very good. I don't know whether to be awed by the heart's resilience, or sad that it must endure so much. Nicely done!

  10. Beautifully written. And I don't know if it was simply a happy coincidence or done on purpose, but I enjoy the fact that the poem is shaped as waves.
