Chimps are better at Charity.

3WW...hamper pulverize taunt

pulverized by humiliating taunts
he climbed on to the stool
placed the rope around his neck
and kicked it away

the church service was lovely
his nemesis cried crocodile tears
the other mates were pissed off
that it had come to this causing
questions to be asked

not hampered by  conscience
consoling themselves
in a lot  of hymn singing
parroting reams of scriptural litany
hands joined together in prayer

they met up at the pub later on
and said what a good bloke he was
pity he took so much to heart
did you know
his room was packed out with  poetry books?
( snigger )
raise your glasses
here's to Wuzza

  1. sad isn't it that anyone would kill themselves.Someone I knew did this after high school and will all asked why. What could we have done to prevent it?

  3. Oh, wow. This is so full of pain, so haunting. Whenever we lose someone by suicide I think we all have to stop and reflect...and perhaps reevaluate the way we treat one another. Very well done, and sadly, spot on.

  5. Reactions to death are often conflicted. It is difficult for most of us to reconcile with suicide for it is rarely expected when it does touch us.

  9. Humanity is a paradoxical word, promising much but delivering very little. There are lot of words like that, politician, government, fair, rule, insurance...my, doesn't the list go on.

  10. You nailed it oldegg...humanity,potential for much, but delivering little but pain, best avoided by keeping head in clouds of poetry:)
Thank you all for your comments. It is much appreciated.

  11. This may seem odd, but I was reminded of a line or two from a video game whilst reading this (Final Fantasy 8). One of the characters is presumed dead and the group begin instantly talking about him in the past tense, just odd sentences, nothing particularly here or there, pretty meaningless. The main character freaks out, seems genuinely perturbed by the fact that people might talk about him that way, should he die.
I don't like how people pretend after someone dies, automatically elevating the dead to sainthood, be that actual saints or absolute sinners, and your poem captured that for me. Bravo!

  12. We are fast becoming a world where feelings and sensitivity are sniggered at and seen as being weak. Violent games, movies and such are desensitizing kids now so that hurting anyone's feelings is no big deal. They are increasingly becoming bullies without even trying to be. This is so sad because, it is all too true now. There is a price to pay for all of this technology which is de-humaninsing us. How sad it is all becoming.

  14. Could not agree more Daydreamer. That is why it is important to cling on to a few gems (if you can find them:)

Mojo when you're dead it doesn't matter what is said about you...it's when you are alive things count.
