she
ripe with toxin
set on a course
of destruction
wounding and maiming
lacerating her dignity
her misery and hatred
as black as the night

  1. I am feeling oppression and hopelessness from this piece, which, I presume, is precisely what you intended.

  2. Nothing that sophisticated MMT. It is a response to a hate poem written on behalf of all "the crap poets" thus labelled by a vicious disfunctional but popular poet.

  3. I suppose it is hard not to respond to vitriolic raving. I chose to ignore your explanation though and interpret in a different way; where the cycle of addiction and harm becomes impossible to break.

  4. All I can think of the the Black Widow--full of toxin and murderous thoughts. There is a dark beauty in this piece.

  5. A poem that is as wounding and maiming as its topic. Remarkable...

  6. A powerful poem. Open to lots of speculation on meaning. Glad I read your comment then re-read the poem. Just tonight I met a colleague who was so filled with anger and negativity, just listening made me feel ill. And I pondered how toxic it is to be in negative company. Your poem is a perfect expression of that. Thank you.
