Haiku Heights

please give it a rest
you are a stone in my shoe
an irritation

this stone is my friend
it's more truthful than a lot
of theologians

found guilty by law
stoning is the punishment
we turn a blind eye

For The Weekend

It is Friday
The fog has lifted
The sky is bright blue

My favourite day
of the week
Feel like going
straight to the airport
getting on a plane taking off

Don't do things like that anymore
Will be going soon enough ..must book ticket
like normal people do

A Happy Weekend to y'all!

Jottings

i awake to horns
not car horns, fog horns on the
harbour, i like it

it's Thursday morning
we are the leaders of time
and that's about it

it's thursday evening
i must prepare food

i would prefer to write

i will contemplate
the three positions of
predestination
while making the fish
and salad
before i go to theological
war with my religious nemesis
albert the convert

humourless
charmless devious
but encyclopaedic
in his knowledge of
ontology

maybe i'll watch a rerun
of bridget jones instead
and paint my toe nails

Poetry Jam and Three Word Wednesday

Words..darken liability badge

To remove you from my mind
darkens my joy

I have done everything  to make
my feelings known to you
apart from wearing a badge declaring
I love you

Friendship is just a liability
in circumstances such as these
so I bid you adieu

A Dverse Trip

Leovi image

Flies in the buttermilk shoo fly shoo
Lost my partner what'll I do
Honey stripes toffee amber  boo hoo
Trippin'  on the beach my darlin'

What are those sand crabs doin' to you
Lucy in the sky green ice blocks too
I'm a little teapot so are you
Trippin on the beach my darlin'

The jeweled giant clam is singin' a song
Happy little vegemite he got it all wrong
There's a hole in my bucket ding dang dong
Flippin' out on the beach my darlin'

I saw a giant prawn in the sky
Trying to avenge the sad meat pies
Paddle pops tim tams give me a high
Trippin' on the beach my darlin'

Yoohoo!

Haiku Heights and Sunday Scribblings

here's to you darling
i wish you health happiness
incandescent love

healthy and luscious
a rose cheeked bonny maiden
elizabethan

don't try to impress
tis dangerous for your health
and looks desperate

special occasions
a luscious fruit pavlova
our gift to the world

if you're going bald
i will love you anyway
there's no need for meds

it may seem bizarre
but it was love at first sight
twas his shapely legs

Three Word Wednesday

javert was not too clever
loveless and godless
his obsession with destruction
of  perceived enemies was his downfall

at the finish all his silky words
plethora of medals and achievements
were not enough to prevent his fate
ending up as a floating top hat in the seine
swimming with the fishes

Poetry Jam...

the thrill of nature
feeling the soft scrunchy grass
beneath my feet

be careful lassie
this guy looks very tricky

Cinquains

well no
i don't think so
more than my new red shoes?

you're pushing the relationship
i think

a gift
what a surprise
i'm getting the message
there's no need for the matching knife
got one!

Haiku Heights

reeling from ambush
like a blow to the head she
still can  laugh out loud

her resilience
was learnt from years of practice
best remedy - laugh

the sad thing about
betrayal is -  it never
comes from enemies

Archbishop Of Canterbury..Tankas

Dad's an Archbishop
What a big hoot!-they don't know
he swears at the dog
when it rips up the prayer books
gets stage fright reading sermons

At least he is safe
they wont burn Dad at the stake
like they did before
with Cranmer - Christians still at
war with each other

Stavros Flatley

Poetry Jam and 3WW

let's be crystal clear about this
these guys are not irish
they trample through the jig steps
a zorba celtic cracked choreographic crisis
looking a bit hopeless and helpless
could be more vigilant about some moves
and perhaps rethink the white socks

Tanka

Poetry Jam and 3WW

let's be crystal clear
i may seem very helpless
and not vigilant
you can trample on my heart
but it will be only once

For The Weekend

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

her grandmother was indomitable yet humorous
her mother was complex, creative and eccentric
my mother was beautiful and sadly enigmatic
their mother is creative, sadly enigmatic and subversive
who knows how the line will follow on in the future
we  all seem to muddle through somehow
we are mothers

Friday, May 10, 2013

this is my story
a message to my dear self
nothing is worth it

what you cannot change
just delete it from your mind
focus on good things

Terza Rima Sonnet

dverse

i look out on to the blue sky and palms
leaves in  flutter so autumn intense
three more short weeks i  drive back  to the farm

must be ageing  losing my common sense
city vibes sing ' i want to stay longer '
chill out, drink lattes, talk crap become dense

if i don't get a little bit stronger
my life could become trite  ditzy and  bland
with lots more time to twitter and ponder

when may bush and olives scent my small hands
the skies, stars  and  silence searing my soul
time slips away like crushed shell in the sand

outback and city, a part of my life
so - just as well i'm a patient man's wife
