For The Weekend

4 comments:

  1. This reminds me of my first love turning up at my home on the evening before my wedding. Wisely, my mother never told me - I was on my 'stag-do'.

We'd lived together for 3 years and I was heart-broken when she left me.

She also unexpectedly turned up at my mother's funeral 25 years later, introducing herself to all and sundry as my "childhood sweetheart". We had a long conversion. We were miles apart in our values and outlook, plus she wasn't the 16 year old I'd fallen so in love with or the 24 year old I remembered.

    I married the right woman.

  2. OH ..Now they are writing songs about you ! :)

Your childhood sweetheart sounds very insensitive rude and pushy. Too many of those in the world already. Glad she dumped you. Lucky escape!

  3. Lol ... of course.

Well, as a sage once observed, I do have an:"undeniable profoundly unattractive ... .... propensity to revel in an important thread ... being turned into debate about ..." me.

It was a lucky escape but I loved her dearly when "She was Sweet Sixteen.".
