Happy New Year

a fresh start
for the new year
no resolutions
just one day at a time
little steps
peace and serenity
to you all
Happy New Year !

Disappearing Over The Horizon

3WW- astonish wander complete

she wandered lonely as a cloud
indeed humility he may have found
am astonished  - an  apology -  his latest line
his new found conscience overdue is fine
a host of  daffodils did not appear
does not give flars -  too mean i fear
she thought of him all afternoon
swimming till late by the light of the moon
they never talk or meet or greet
most unsatisfactory and incomplete
an irritating distraction this man may be
best kept at a distance and way out to sea

Not Quite A Christmas Carol

B and Ps Shadorma and Beyond...MLMM

To the tune of Good King Wenceslas

1.
looking forward to new year
hoping  for the better
without violence no more  fear
poison poems and letters

it's unlikely this will be
man is mainly cru - el
thanks for beauty and the sea
thanks to Him who rules

2.
and when all is said and done
no escape from fate
futile thought to hide and run
time to square the slate

so enjoy life's happiness
filled with joy and wonder
there's no place for nastiness
think sunshine not thunder

For The Weekend

homeless
born on straw in a stable
a poor little mite
changed the world
2000 years ago
with an almighty dose of
enlightenment
compassion
humility and love

the christmas story
tugs at heart strings every year
all over the world

the nativity
all part of the grand design
to save each and everyone of us

May joy rule your lives and may this blog provide a little respite in the often relentless, sometimes dark journey through life. Happy Christmas to all. A special thank you and best wishes to my visitors throughout the year.

Three Word Wednesday

 obituary resonant placid

i wonder if
robert wrote
his own obituary

not a placid man
a preacher's son
a gun fighter
from the wild west

his words
resonated so much
with the townsfolk
more than a hundred
showed up for his funeral

the saloon girls
placed a floral tribute
on his grave
every week

Henri Matisse 1869 - 1954

the colours
leap off the canvas
colours of joy
colours scented with magnolia

picasso said
matisse must have swallowed
the sun

each painting
radiates
a summer's afternoon
sunshine and light
streaming  through
french doors

a still life of tables
laden with fruit and flowers
cicadas whirring outside
in the time of dreams
when life was slower
when life was simpler

when life was better

Soil contamination is a global problem particularly in inner city industrialised areas which have now become gentrified . Lead content is at dangerously high levels and results in disastrous health consequences for children.

no time to say hello goodbye

no time for old friends
no time for reflection

tied to cell phones
tied to the trap of consumerism

For The Weekend

For The New South Welshmen who survived the stinker yesterday .

man it was a hot one
like seven inches from the midday sun
way over the century mark

global warming is here to stay
was the hottest year this year
will even  be hotter next year
south australia is burning

no worries mate
as long as the giant corporations
are stashing it away
sitting pretty on profits
that's all that counts

what happens
when the water dries up and the crops fail?
future generations can deal with that one

3WW...illustrious habitual jumbled
Midweek Motif...PU

FOR THE 78 WOMEN MURDERED ...AND 28,000 ASSAULT VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE THIS YEAR IN AUSTRALIA

habitual denigration
verbally and physically
by men towards women
is in epidemic proportions

it navigates all
social echelons from the illustrious
to the average joe

often confused
by the jumbled mixed messages
tears and declarations of love
false promises and flowers
the women stay
a lot having nowhere to go

the few lucky ones
leave or outlive the perpetrators
the remainder either die literally or figuratively
the children scarred for life

Life

Midweek Motif PU

life
is a struggle
a lot of the time
filled with
disappointment
broken dreams
disillusionment
peppered
with wonderful memories
splendid moments
always too brief
never long enough
just like the perfect summer

as long as we are still
on a boat
we are all survivors

it's a smooth ride for some
turbulent for others
some want to jump off
some cling to a wreckage
some opt for alternate ways
to stay afloat

Michael Leunig

survival depends
on prevailing weather
luck
karma
ancestors
maybe even guardian angels
or other mysterious forces at work
pulling the strings

For The Weekend Again

you can
rumpti tumpti tumpti tum
huff and puff
blow the house down
blow the house up
blow yourself up
because
i saw a red canna lily today
that made my heart soar

i saw some christmas lights
outside
a small drab block of flats
lovingly arranged on a sad lone bush
by a sweet tenant

i saw a dear english woman
milk porcelain'd complexion
sweltering and wilting
in over 40 degree heat
bothering to painstakingly give directions
to a vague passerby ( moi.)
comatosed by the burning sun
God bless her

yes
i'm the gal who broke the bank at monte carlo
an inescapable truth
the best things in life are free
providing
one is not blind to them

How this little boy and his dad helped Paris

infant Jesus meek and mild
look upon this little child

innocence profound
an army of flowers will fight
against the guns and suicide swats
with candle light reinforcements
to save the day

the firestorm
will be snuffed out
by the overpowering perfume of roses
and  billions of soft petals and lights

the merciless
will be shamed
by the sweetness of beautiful children
the mirror of the Almighty

les mechants
will be struck down
reeling
from the heavenly light
of young men
coptic christian martyrs
butchered on a beach
the eyes of their severed heads
burning a searing gaze
into the black souls
of the masked murderers
for eternity

evil cannot last

Paris Is Burning Again

as predicted
the fantastic 4
have succeeded
in butchery and terror
6 hours ago in paris
all in the name of
the religion of peace

not for the first time
has paris succumbed
to a river of blood

the stench
was so bad in the
place de la concorde
during the beheadings
of the french revolution
herds of cows
refused to cross the fields
nearby

now another stench is invading
europe and the west
sinister and barbaric
ironically a conquest
made easy by invitation

the politically correct
indoctrinated hens
have invited the fox
into the chook house
then are outraged and shocked
waking up to feathers and corpses
in the morning
the fox, licking his lips
blood spattered and smiling

indeed why wouldn't  the fox smile
any fox out there would be roflhao
