Soil contamination is a global problem particularly in inner city industrialised areas which have now become gentrified . Lead content is at dangerously high levels and results in disastrous health consequences for children.

One of the problems is the redevelopment of former industrial sites for housing and this has happened in South Australia.Then there is the asbestos contamination in many backyards as we really loved the stuff!
ReplyDeleteWe have been recently informed that some of our green space by a local utility wants to be rezoned. Normally I do not go to town meetings... but I am going to that one - so I can at least state that once green space is gone it is difficult to replace.
