bullies are versatile
they can be as enchanting
as a floral tribute
reeking of
giddy fragrant poison
fanatically precisioned
when it comes to the cut

they can be sociopaths
cowards who need cohorts (apaths)
and come in all genders classifications
shapes and sizes
they do not work alone

they take delight
in inflicting suffering
on those
who are perceived
as threatening or weak
for whatever reason
flimsy paper tigers
crumple
when confronted
and turn into bin liners

midweek motif PU
Hmmm. True, in high school ....
ReplyDelete"flimsy paper tigers

For the first time I see this as positive, though retributory.
Powerful and perfect! When confronted, they crumple and become bin liners.............if only those bullied knew the power is not one-sided. Even when it seems like it is.
ReplyDeleteAt least I got one laugh out of this with the bullies being turned into bin liners.
ReplyDeletePaper tigers is correct.. but one needs to find the courage to confront them.
ReplyDeleteyes they are just that, bin liners...truly exposed and with humor :)
ReplyDeletePerfect ending! Those unwilling to change or find love and empathy in their hearts when all other chances have been given, deserve this one fate.
ReplyDeletegiddy fragrant poison - think i have inhaled a fair amount of that over the years.. and on which note really like the first sign here...time to crumple some paper tigers ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree, you have captured their treacherous characteristics with pure perfection..!
ReplyDeleteLots of love,
Sanaa
love the last lines.. such a contrast to the stanzas before and all the more powerful
ReplyDeleteThere are nasty people out there. Can't always avoid them, have to work with them. But there are strategies....
ReplyDeleteHere here! I have no time for bullies, except to set them straight. Your words deftly capture their weakness.
ReplyDeleteSo often the bully is in reality a weak coward. I know one very well.
