Bach Cello Suite No.1 - Prelude (Yo-Yo Ma)
Midweek Motif - Poets United
CRACKPOT IDEAS FROM A SOCIAL PARIAH
social pariah
neonlit in
a perfectly positioned cloud balloon
hanging above the head of any person
having an elevated brain
having independent thought
non sympatico with the herd mentality
classified as elitist
possessing an appreciation and knowledge
of high culture
rejecting popular values and mores
very very sus and discomforting
to the millions who light a candle
to Kim Kardashian's insured huge arse
there is a social stigma attached
to those who disdain and despise
Mammon and his powerful cohorts
to those who are not impressed or envy anything
money grubbers are or own
who delight in the fact
that true talent and wealth can never be purchased
there is a social stigma attached
to the oddity who recognises
the divine in the true genius of JS Bach
truth humility and spirituality
being essential qualities in a crackpot's philosophy
to living a rich and meaningful life
Carpe Diem Haiku Kai
Bach
the voice of God - a connection
to the divine
we left the garden
a long time ago moving
further and further away

Oh, it is refreshing to read this. You are talking my language. Loved this. Got an extra kick out of the huge arse. Lol.
ReplyDeleteWow! How many of us you speak for. And you even brought in Bach! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI hear you! And though it is melancholy, I love the second haiku.
ReplyDeleteYou totally blew me away with this one!!
ReplyDeleteA wise commentary and song for individuality - i too love the ending poem
ReplyDeleteI agree "that true talent and wealth can never be purchased"...Bach was divinely inspired!
ReplyDeletea rich and meaningful life is for a handful...sigh...
ReplyDeletePleasure generally, and pleasure in art in particular, is very subjective.
ReplyDeleteThe degree of pleasure comes from an informed opinion.
DeleteDivine Bach, indeed, Rall! My #1 favourite composer...
ReplyDeleteFunny how the tall poppy syndrome genrates so much stigma. We have to nowadays be defensive when we listen to classical music, have interests in art, history, literature and philosophy rather than what the celebrities are doing every moment of their life. Well, I'll be stigmatised and wear my stigma with pride!
I'll wear mine too:)
ReplyDeleteYou make me feel less alone Nicholas !
