For The Weekend

Sadly ,colonies of wombats are being seriously depleted due to road kill and sarcoptic mange.
These very cute animals are in need of government funding to protect them as an endangered species.

Because the above video is disallowed I will substitute some pics of little George who  is an orphan.
His mother was a victim to road kill.

They grow into large stout stocky animals with huge claws for burrowing.
Patrick (below) is the biggest wombat in the world.
He lives in the London Zoo.Most wombats in the wild live until about 15 years old.
Patrick is 29 and is a virgin. This may have something to do with being in Britain all  this time:)

  1. Does Cori want me to support it? And George. Is he in favour?

  2. George Brandis even though he is the same build and has the same claws as Wally Wombat is not as cute...struggles when you try to pick him up.Glad you are one of my followers Malcom. You will find a lot of important tips on how to run the nation if you read this blog.

  3. I think Malc probably meant George Christianson, Queensland's answer to something. School bullies perhaps.

Unless there is money in the saving of the wombats, nothing will happen. Money. Or votes. It wont get done on it's merits.

  5. I love wombats! Unfortunately they are very susceptible to road kill, as they have never adapted to acquire road sense.

    1. This one is unusually big. They are descendants of the Diprotodon which used to roam around north western NSW in the dinosaur age. Bones have been found in that region.
