so carefully protected
is smashed
blown up
ripped apart
and things
cannot get any worse
you recall
a perfect balmy november night
at a concert
last year on sydney harbour
the audience sings along
to songs - milestones
in so many of our lives
a sea of joyous faces
a magical evening
one of those special events
a communal arm wraps itself around you
holds you close
and
you don't feel so alone
