Sunday's Whirligig 152

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "The Hand-Carved Loon" by Robert Adamson:

murk bottom made poem bird balsa
things sleek head glides waves cuts

the bird glides
over the sleek waves

he made a balsa sculpture
that reminded her
of that bird
it was lightweight and free
just like him

keep your head
slipping on
the green murk at the bottom
of the rock pool means
tropical ulcers from cuts

not the time
for things to go wrong girly
you're on your own now

  1. Thinking about our path...wondering, but keeping our eye on the path as we move on with our lives....this reminded me of some very important times, when I regained my footing and journeyed forward alone to find myself again. Wonderful poem!

  2. That sense of journey and the wisdom of travelling lightly neatly and originally captured here... Enjoyed it very much

  4. We do draw from nature in our mind wanderings and reverie, and more or less some impressions touch us deeply enough to etch themselves in our consciousness. Lovely write Rall

  5. "lightweight and free....just like him." Yes, attention must be paid to keeping one's footing. Loved this.

  6. Such depths in this piece – rather like the rock pool itself.
