Midweek Motif - MLMM

they must exist
but
i don't know any real humans

i've read about them in books
seen them in movies
seen them being interviewed on tv

i am fascinated by the concept of kindness
that seems to be extended to so many
on social media
(people have hundreds of close friends)
but in real life it has eluded me
and frankly i don't see much of it
as i go about my daily life

i can only conclude aliens (cruel ones)
inhabit this planet

  1. Haha! and GROAN. It seems we can most readily be defined by expectations rather than reality. I believe we don't want to settle for what we see, and I hope/pray that we keep on trying.

  2. Perfect! This concept is dawning on my teenagers.... we’ve had to re-define the word ‘friend’ in our house. That picture says it all.

  3. I guess kindness is not what defines us, but hopefully at least we can strive for it.

  4. Oh I hear you but I believe in human kindness as I have seen it. You don't hear them as they just quietly do their thing in the undergrowth of this jungle. I have worked in charity and I have seen lots of kindness, I have been through an earth quake and have seen a lot of kindness and the opposite....the ones who profited from this and therefore many became homeless. But schools, individuals and companies are involved to support these human beings Oh there is a lot of hope

  5. A real human is kind. Oh yes....and it does seem in short supply these days, most notably on the southern border of the USA. However I do know there are many very kind and compassionate humans, we just dont hear about them as often as we hear about the other kind.

  6. Kind humans are rare indeed! But they are there otherwise this world would have ended a long time ago. May their tribe increase....

  7. A real human has to be kind
and I agree, they're had to find,
but keep on searching and one day
a real human will pass your way. :)

  8. Sadly those of us that show humanity to help others are regarded as weak or gullible because most of the rich tend not to be compassionate unless it reduces their taxes or gives them a good press.

  10. Yes there's definitely always the ideal and the stark reality. Or maybe the moral consensus and the individual activity.

Happy you dropped by to read mine

  11. I have seen human kindness & also try to pass it on; but it seems that the world is a much more unkind place than it used to be. Selfish unkind people in government do not set a good example. Not sure how it is in Australia. It cannot be worse!
