Autumn in the Park

Centennial Park

committed to honing
the perfect body
on her knees
she is getting closer
as
the poet lugs her unfitness
at a snail's pace
around the lake

in one hour
the picture
will turn
from this
to this

Centennial Park

it gets dark early now
with winter approaching
autumn always
the sad time

the swans ducks and geese
are tucked in for the night
on the island
the last of the light
reflected on the lake

  1. Light in its own beauty with a tinge of sadness. Nice.

  2. What wonderful photos Rall. It is always surreal to me that the northern and southern hemispheres are climate negatives of each other. Communication technologies have made the world feel too small for this to still be true.

  3. Beautifully captured, it captures the imagination of the poet.

  4. Curiously this sent my mind back remembering that craze a few years ago of celebrating a Christmas in July in Australia where it would be more fitting, does this still happen? I love the mystery in the night time picture.

  5. Tucked in swans and geese are a perfect coziness at the end of the poem, as the effort of daylight gives way to twilight. Gorgeous. :)
