the dancing was pretty frenzied
moving through a whirlwind life
lots of collisions and topples
now in soft shuffle mode
weighed down heavy
by too much truth and wisdom
she prefers the slow dance
everything non eventful and
underwhelming is welcome
il dolce far niente
has become her greatest luxury

Love the relaxing mood at the end.

ReplyDeleteOh, me, too! Absolutely. I love dull and boring - no drama, no crises. And a slower speed is mandatory!
ReplyDeleteThere's a time for fast and frenzied dancing, and a time for slow and languid dancing. (Sounds like something out of Ecclesiastes, doesn't it?)
ReplyDeleteFast dancing, frenzied movement is what youth is all about ... I have reached that stage in life slow dancing is probably safer. Of course, I am thankful I can still dance. Lovely write.
ReplyDeleteMoving through a whirlwind Love that and what better choice than to il dolce far niente Sweet nothing
ReplyDeleteI think we were so energetic as teenagers that those "il dolce" moments were essential to recuperate. Best of all was relaxing in a field overlooking a town or the sea as Isreals painting, to unwind.
ReplyDeleteFrom the quick step to the slow shuffle. Love the movement of this! And great song!
ReplyDeleteThere is ponder abd contemplation in the present dance mode, yes indeed
