Ah, this is a wry commentary on the state of things. Well done. Rall, your link cant be reached through the Muse. I then tried it thru another venue and still couldnt reach you. I finally went to google search and found you. Not sure what is up.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Cannot imagine what comes next! I enjoyed this one.
ReplyDeleteWill it though? Will it be continued? Part of me hopes not.
ReplyDeleteYou weaved a powerful extended metaphor here.
(I got here because I have your page favorited. The link you left on Poetry Pantry is broken.)
Thank you for letting me know...will fix !
ReplyDeleteThis is a powerful write Rall! It really tugs at the heart too. Glad you joined us at the Muse.
ReplyDeleteMay we rise from these troubled days a much better tribe of humans.
ReplyDeleteWell done! This started out funny and then got very real.
ReplyDeleteWhat a team they make: Mr. G Reaper and Madam C Virus--a deadly team, of course.
ReplyDeleteThat is a team we should all be scared of...
ReplyDelete"poor moose
ReplyDeletehad dreams
of sailing away
like so many" -- Yep.

ReplyDeleteSadly humans tend to overestimate their capability to fight and win any combat rather than go into lockdown until the danger has passed, but that is us all over.
ReplyDeleteAll the sad happenings woven cleverly into this poem The inequality and the resulting pecking order and the meeting with madam C virus
ReplyDeleteyes, we can all be high faluted but when the fate comes, oh well. i like your wisdom here. great write!
ReplyDeleteCliffhanger alert!!! And just when I was getting into it :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever. It would be cool to see that continuation.
ReplyDeleteCertainly the odds are not in our favour too often.
ReplyDeleteLove the moose bowl.
Something tells me the cogs are about to come off of destiny.
