Day 8

Art- A van Son
traffic jam
rush hour rain storm
friday night in the city
after a rotten week at work
.. . . what if . . . . . .
the grass is indeed greener
on the other side
only one way to
find out
Day 9
you have to be a genius or greek
to achieve the promethean task
of writing a palindrome
must be the mediterranean diet
all that back to front zorba dancing
a history drenched in retsina and ouzo
aussies are no good at doing back to front
but
we' re pretty good at anything upside down or loopy
(not necessarily loop poems: )
DAY 10 Alouette Form

the news hit her like a bomb
she struck back with might
and still continues to fight
she will go down with aplomb
now it's october
and the worst may be over
pray for light to come along
things could be alright
settle down in peace and quiet
please god willing bring it on

ive started already
nice with a cuppa before bed
nite nite

I love it. It made me smile. And wonder about the grass. The shape is gracious, it invites me to read the poem.
ReplyDeleteThere's a promise in there...
a good take on the prompt...
ReplyDeleteShort and deceptively simple. Very powerfully written.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem gave me a good chuckle!
ReplyDeleteI was forced into the circumstances described in the first poem when my health problems became severe enough that I couldn't work at a regular job anymore. I miss having a regular paycheck, but I sure don't miss working 60 hour weeks and being a slave to a time clock.
Book of Thoughts
You did so well with each of these forms! The second was very funny. :) Powerful and personable in succinct lines. Excellent work on all three.
ReplyDeleteOne must live in hope...<3
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your 9th Oct poem!
ReplyDeleteAnd today's poem speaks beautifully about resilience. Wishing you the best.
Lovely take on the Prompt..
ReplyDelete"pray for light to come along
things could be alright .." lovely lines..
Re: poem 10
ReplyDeleteHere in the United States, it ain't over till the ballots are counted and we receive the news that the Rotten Orange Dictator is being sent packing.
I'm fearful that corruption and those held in his sway may keep him here for another four disastrous years.
Re #8: The greenness may be due to the septic tank outflow.
ReplyDeleteRe #9: Palindromes. Why?
Re #10: May it be so.
All of your poems speak to me . . . truly needed, this step into another country far from the US and its current chaos.
ReplyDelete#8: maybe there's more than just one way to find out what's on the other side?
#9: sheer, sensual delight in words and images.
#10: I think we're all praying for light.
Su much yes to your day 9 :)
ReplyDeleteRe: #12
ReplyDeleteWell, that sounds like my muse!
Each one of these are thought provoking and sharp Rall! Nice!!
ReplyDeleteFine writing here Rall, and I loved the video... :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Dang, cynical but probably true.
ReplyDeleteGreat writes, day after day! Kudos
ReplyDeleteYou are brilliant and quite clever, my friend!
ReplyDeleteLove the way these page through the days--I'm ready for hope but maybe not for Christmas just yet.
ReplyDeleteI hope the grass is greener somewhere else. Your poems made me pause and that is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteExcellent cinquain, Rall. Your October challenge is going well.
