DAY 14 Truth
to thine own self be true
not always easy to do billy boy
avoiding it because it is too painful
burying it under the floorboards
because it does not suit our situation
only to have it pop up again and again
when least wanted or expected
leads to mayhem in la vie interieure department
time to
climb out from under the duvet
prepare for reality battle
grab truth by its little horns
toss it in the air
watch it fly
play lots of Wagner
(the ride of the valkyries is a good one_)
practise warrior war cries
(never mind the neighbours)
face it full on
you will win
and bob's your uncle:)
Weekly Scribblings PSU
"I cant listen to that much Wagner. It brings on a sudden urge to invade Poland" Woody Allen
DAY 15 - Patience
Shadorma Form
it still eludes her
she tries hard
always fails
a simmering volcano
she is not a saint
explosive
a ticking time bomb
boom kapow
dynamite
age has wearied her a bit
a good thing no doubt
DAY 16 Rondolet
you were not there
when i so needed your support
you were not there
your rejection of me unfair
you never gave me a kind thought
your insults and cruel jibes a sport
you were not there
DAY 17 Magic
the tango starts at 1:34
she couldn't dance the tango
(not like the lovely young donna)
but wanted to give it a try
trip the light fantastic
with a sweet and gorgeous guy
if ever she meets al pacino
she will escort him to the floor
twirl with him to a tango
impress the crowd more more
her name may not be donna
she may not be his type
but when they dance together
the stars become more bright
DAY 18
i walk the cliff top most days
to breathe in the sea
sit on my little seat
fill my eyes with blue
and calm the dervishes
whirling in my soul
a new sign has appeared
alas this is no longer
my cherished place
of peace and respite
i will find another

Bobs your uncle means...she'll be right mate... no worries !
ReplyDeleteI really liked this. It rings true! ;-)
ReplyDeleteFunny we don't use that expression much anymore. As I get older I seem to lose a bit of the past almost every day and the words we used and the ways we were are slowly put out of sight and become arcane if I use them!
ReplyDeleteI do hope so!
ReplyDelete(I love your irreverent 'billy boy'.)
prepare for reality battle
ReplyDeletegrab truth by its little horns
toss it in the air
watch it fly....
i absolutely created an image of it..... :P

Do I HAVE to climb out from under the duvet? :)
ReplyDeleteI have playlists filled with power songs to get me through, depending on the occasion.
ReplyDelete"to thine own self be true" that should be the starting point for all of us.
ReplyDeleteThings usually run so much more smoothly when truth is your motto. Bob's your uncle!
ReplyDelete"practise warrior war cries
ReplyDelete(never mind the neighbours)" 😊
Luv the music
Happy Wednesday
Much💛love
practise warrior war cries.
ReplyDeletemade me laugh unexpectedly.
Loved the popping floorboards and comfy duvets
I love both your day 14 and 15! Boom kapow are muchly underrated in poems.
ReplyDelete"avoiding it because it is too painful
ReplyDeleteburying it under the floorboards
because it does not suit our situation
only to have it pop up again and again"
I've done this a lot in my life. I didn't learn until I was in my 50s that I was suffering from complex PTSD.
Lack of patience ??? Always a price to pay.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the image of truth hidden under the floorboards, popping back out. Of course it would, we can't hide from our own truths! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading your poems and watching the videos you chose to go with them.
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult crawling out from under the duvet - you bounced out wonderfully with these words
ReplyDeleteThis a feast of poems for us. Thankyou Rall!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this varied feast, thank you.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful range of work, R; I esp liked the Shadorma
ReplyDeleteSometimes I am quite good at avoiding something I surprise myself. I do not mind neighbors either.
ReplyDeleteyes true .. find another... nothing is End of the world... lovely write..

Lovely collection. Well done.
ReplyDeleteCan't resist Ride of the Valkyries...these are wonderful poems and the energy of the following helped the sting of the first two. :)
ReplyDeleteTruth flying thru the air ..... may it be.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I thoroughly enjoyed each of your poems. And, I see we have the love of the sea in common. xoA <3
ReplyDeletedelightful collection of varied poetry. liked what you said about patience (or the lack of it).
ReplyDeletei heard of "the ride of the valkyries" from a war movie.
Preparing for battle, a walk on top of the cliffs, a tango... nicely penned!
