a blursday life
flitting
here and there
those who wander are not always lost
he grew old
she grew up
the sadness began
reality collided with dreams
hold me now
warm my heart
stay with me
hold me now
time is short
stay with me
until the end

Weekly Scribblings # 48
A poignant plea! What we all long for.
ReplyDeleteHow many hearts were broken in our teen years as we played the courting game. Curiously a few still were in contact many years later which was strangely comforting for an old widower!
ReplyDeleteA familiar story, Rall, sad but often true.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the vid, Rall; it was playing in my head even before I clicked it. Fine work. Salute.
ReplyDeleteStellar music ... chills (the good ones) to begin my day. Hold me now, warm my heart, stay with me .... all we need. A most beautiful poem.
ReplyDeleteThere is something extra intriguing in the first two lines of the second stanza. The statements leave me wanting to know more about the people involved, learn more about how getting old affect him and what growing up did for her.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, although such a sad feeling it give off to me. I think the thought of a blursday life, how fast it goes, and you may not even notice until it's too late. I've been feeling that way as I get older, while my husband didn't get a chance to get old (he died at 47).
ReplyDeleteI loved the tick-tock rhythm of the song. It was as if the poem featured a failed relationship, and a plea to save a second. Quite touching.
ReplyDeleteAh yes a little hug goes a long way
ReplyDeleteNice one
Much💜love
