another christmas come and gone
a fridge groaning with leftovers
a sugar hit that could blow mount vesuvius
crossed eyes from watching 25 thousand
episodes of the crown
especially lovely
the kind wishes from those i have never met
but feel closer to than those i have
thank you dear ones
and now for the next hurdle
new years eve

Oh, the after-effects. :) Quiet days are definitely welcome even after this year's low-key celebrations. Wishing you a good new year!
ReplyDeleteI can relate to so many of the sentiments here Rall. Thank you for being a part of the last Muse of 2020. I hope your 2021 is full of joy and health. 🌻
ReplyDelete...and here we all exchange "warm wishes from those we've never met" ...our cyber family, of whom we've grown quite fond! Quiet after-Christmas, and blessed New Year!
ReplyDeleteI am relieved to have made all that sugary stuff disappear ... friends and neighbors loving me. My blood glucose loving me.
ReplyDeleteWishing a writer I've never met, and know I would enjoy spending time with a Happy Healthy Productive 2021. Cheers.
I feel the same way, that I know my online friends and they know me better than real life ones....because you read the contents of my heart. Stay safe, Rall. We survived 2020. We should be wearing t-shirts that say that. Smiles. 2021 has to be better.
ReplyDeleteYes, the next hurdle! It feels like that every year. Thanksgiving and Christmas feel like days apart, then the week before New Years is the calm, or should be, used to be.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Rall!
ReplyDeleteWonderful poetry here!
ReplyDeleteI think we share more intimately with our on-line friends. I do feel a part of this wonderful family.
ReplyDeleteThat is the first time I’ve ever seen it as “New Year’s Sieve.” Clever.
ReplyDeleteStopping over to wish you a Happy New Year's. Let's hope 2021 brings us better days.
ReplyDeleteWishing you peace and health
