That's funny and what a beautiful picture. I would buy something like that straight away

  2. I did in 2007...It is over 100 years old and I am still working on it...very slowly:)

  5. The sevenling is catching! And another familiar situation! We must have had rocks in our heads when we bought our cottage. Yes, we have nice views, but it’s taken twenty years and more than a coat of paint and a bit of tidying up, and it's still not done!

  6. It is better to have bought than not or else you would have forever regretted it.

  7. I love this and " i know - c'est moi" made me chuckle.
I have been decorating my kitchen-diner bit-by-bit for six years and finally given up - lovely George (the decorator) arrives tomorrow!

  10. Sometimes being impractical gives you acres of fun space.

  11. Sounds like an intriguing life/house project. :)

  12. Heh. I've been told I have rocks in my head for wanting to keep my home. If I hadn't inherited it and had to buy a house, I'd buy one like it. Not a lot of mod. cons. that require a lot of expensive maintenance; only the house itself needs money or attention. That's a BIG plus. And it's a bonus if it scares the yuppies away.

  13. OK, ya got me! I already have a decorating theme in mind and know exactly what the outside needs and I WILL have my tin roof to hear the patter of raindrops.

  14. I can always see the hidden beauty of a nice fixer-upper. So, the rocks-in-head club seems to be a very popular one.

  15. Great poem with perfect closing line. It would be wonderful to have the skill to make a ramshackle cabin glorious again...but it requires more skill and patience than I was gifted!!

  16. Nice claim at the ending. It has its charm.

  17. Oh me too. Show me a fixer upper and i'm all in. Smiles.
