Sunday Muse # 167 / Writers Pantry # 77

the owl and the pussy cat

rowed away for a year and a day

to the land where the bong trees grow

the owl got stoned and beached the boat

pussy my love found it hard to cope

stranded  and cold without any coats

they sang by the light of the moon

a sad little desolate tune

eating sushi with a runcible spoon

o pussy my love

o heavens above

owl sang to a small guitar

forgive me  my dear

once again i fear

the wedding is off

the ring has been lost

perhaps next year

we'll travel by car

  12. Love your rendition of the boat and passengers.
I lost a ring to someplace in the bottom of a lake. It used to
mean a lot but by then I just wore it to scare others away.
I lost another ring, from my present wife of 48 years now, and
lamented that event, after a year plus i found it under a car seat.
    We both were glad.
