we studied it in modern history
we have seen all the ww2 movies
except now these tragic exodus scenes
are happening today this minute
another psycho without the moustache
but with the same unlimited powers
strikes again
thank the lord our grandparents and parents
of my generation
are mostly not here to live through this all over again
now it's our turn
we heard all the stories
now it's our turn
to not look away
to stand with them
to all join together
to defend them and fight
to stop the brutality
of this unjust war
and pray
pray for all these petrified poor souls
who needlessly will die

ReplyDeleteYes, I was born at the end of WWII, have read all the books, seen all the movies, been fascinated by that time in history - and have been appalled to see history repeating itself. We do not evolve. At our peril.
