  1. Oh, so well said. So effective that apocalypse sign flickering.........yikes. I have been hearing about the flooding. Truly terrible. Our floods have stopped but soon the wildfires will come. And still nothing changes.

    1. I am in Eastern suburbs Sydney at the moment...so ok. I am worried about Rosemary. She lives in the Northern Rivers Murwillumbah and they are truly devastated up there.

    2. Thanks, Rall. You were right to worry, but fortunately I am too high up to get flooded and I have plenty of food for myself and my cat. As you know, many others were far from so lucky. For some days I have had no phone, no wifi, and only occasional patchy internet via mobile data. I could send and receive texts most of the time. I saw your message at my blog, much appreciated, but was unable to reply. Internet was restored tonight. Phones came back on earlier today, but are dropping out a lot. Anyway, have managed to ascertain that all my friends are OK – though some have very damaged homes, and some are in evacuation centres.

Needless to say, I relate to your excellent poem (and its illustrations) very well!

  3. This big bad world of flood and frenzy is home now & we have to learn how to sing it, stay wild in it ... and keep our masks and rubbers on.

    1. Rubbers are condoms ...not quite sure if you meant this:)

  4. We desperately need balance as the environment produces too much rain in one place and no rain in another. The photo of soldiers seems unreal. Apocalyptic, indeed, if we remain sheep to authoritarians in the world.

  5. Rall, this is epic poetry ~~ the devastation of floods in NSW and Queensland to the utter destruction of Ukraine ...

  7. I can understand your concerns. News of the flooding in Australia only reached me via WordPress. Nothing on our news at all! It's only the beginning of the end of the world, I suppose...

  8. This made me shiver. I've been thinking about Rosemary (and now you), worrying about how the rain might affecting things. Rosemary lost power a few days ago. I hope things get back to our current normal soon.

And don't even let me get started about that greedy monster. Like COVID isn't enough. Sigh.

  11. The flooding sounds horrible. But, I really like your poem and pictures., esp. the one of "psycho boy" and the flickering sign. Great commentary.
