Break break break
on thy cold grey stones
i still remember that poem
from a time when children
learnt poetry by heart
read anne of green gables
and the scarlet pimpernel
and thought bananas
were a dessert treat with ice cream
rather than a teaching aid
to demonstrate condom application
in the sex education lesson

The first poem I remember is "I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree...." I loved the Anne series. CBC has created a film series based on the books that is very artfully done, titled Anne With an E. Really delightful for Anne fans.
