growing up
with a huge selection of rock pools
at my disposal was wealth
the discovery of a magical hidden world
of beauty and wonder
an enrichment for budding future poets and dreamers
hours spent swimming under water in the deep pools
locating all the little secret hidey holes
of minature sea life
summer days of childhood...idyllic

A world of wonder for sure - and an idyllic childhood. Lovely. Lucky kids who grow up by the sea and get to explore tidepools.
ReplyDeleteidyllic is the apt word!

ReplyDeleteHi Rall, I've been trying to post comments to your poems for ages. Hopefully it will work this time. I love the way you describe the rock pools we see along Australian beaches. I can remember gazing into them as a child too and being utterly transported. Suzanne (Wordpress) Mapping Uncertainty.
