 https://youtu.be/cQhYyowvPTM

Day 19

the taste
of freshly marinated
sicilian olives
of home made french mayonnaise
of vienna schnitzel
of steak and mushroom pies
of vichysoisse
of roast butternut pumpkin paprika potatoes and chicken
creme brulee
food to die for

ma memere told me
darling
if you cook like a french woman
you will always find a husband
no matter how old you are
she was right
just like the cats
the way to their hearts
is through their stomachs

DAY 20

beware
of online purchases
with no money back guarantee
and no return of goods

that sweet well behaved
old german shepherd
in need of a new home
arriving on your doorstep
may not be of the four legged
variety
you were anticipating

DAY 21

  1. Bow
  2. Lean
  3. Park
  4. Saw
  5. Tear
  6. Wound

 leaning on  her walker

 she  shed a tear

bring me my bow

of burning gold

her emotions wound tight

like a spring

like her first walk in the park

since the accident

it was his favourite hymn

DAY 22

what is she !

 https://youtu.be/cQhYyowvPTM

who is sylvia

what is she

that all our swains commend her

well she's certainly not

the sylvia of my student days

"what a piece of work"

schubert wouldn't  be writing songs

about her

rumours persist that one of her ancestors was responsible

for his "unfinished symphony "

what a surprise !

  3. Nice thoughts, I like the first, Day 19, the best, it reminded me of getting to know Mrs. Jim. She had me over for supper on our first get together, a date (?), for a she had supper prepared. Roasted small chicken, potatoes, salad, and vichyssoise. We met at a singles supper that our landlady had every other month. My roommate's girl friend was sitting beside Mrs. Jim and I wasn't there as it was the first night of school (college class). But the prof apologized for taking role and leaving and dismissed class. The girls had saved a plate for me, she had prepared clam fettucine alfredo which I dearly like. Next we had a date, took my kids and her to a Houston Astros baseball game. She like to cook French, her ancestors came from Bourdeaux, France to New Orleans. We've visited relatives in Bourdeaux a couple of time. Oh yes, she is a LSU Tiger.
Sorry this is long, but that's what your write did for me.

    1. No need for apologies...pleased my poem inspired you to talk about yourself....Mrs Jim sounds like a good catch...Dont know what a LSU Tiger is but I'm sure it keeps you on your toes and spritely :) My lot.hail from Nouvelle Caledonie an island three hours plane ride from Sydney but they were all born in France. 4. What Helen said. The German Shepherd crack d me up. And who doesn't love a bit of Blake, with or without the glorious singing? And then, you make me wish I had embraced cooking after all.

  6. Some said Blake's poem should be the national anthem for England. At least at football matches. :)
