POETRY WITH PICS.
she likes a cup of twinings tea
that may sound a little twee
bring it in a pretty pink cup
and she'll invite both penny and pup
they are little sweeties the best of friends
devoted great fans of a poet in bend
who likes old cars particularly utes
in a flower filled paddock she practises the flute
her gauche beau phil turned out to be a fake
an ignorant idiot just on the make
she sent him packing with a flea in his ear
and now he trembles and quakes in fear

Sipping tea from a pretty cup, playing a flute amid the flowers are images of delight. An enjoyable read, particularly when thinking of the fake beau living in fear with a flea biting in his ear.
ReplyDeleteWell this is delightful. Love all the little poems...the photos are icing on the cake. I have to agree, though, tea in a pink cup sounds about perfect right now!

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy life there. like a fairy land. I like utes, we don't have a lot of them here.

ReplyDeleteLove this so much. The last one left me giggling.
ReplyDeleteMade me laugh. Very few poems and poets have that passion to wake up the gleeful child in you. Playing flute in the flower field is a beautiful capture.
